We use plant species from Reunion Island and the Mascarene Islands, recognized worldwide for their beneficial effects.

With its verdant mountains that purify the air, its rivers that are the source of life, its powerful sun that gives willpower and courage, and its volcanoes that have made it a land rich in energy, Reunion Island is a unique island.

Our kanets are handmade one by one, of the highest quality and 100% locally produced. We select the best plant species and varieties with respect for the environment, and we also call on “péi” herbalists who are experts in their field.

Then we make the kanets in our workshop, scrupulously following the manufacturing stages to ensure a product of excellence.

“passing on the experience of our elders, from generation to generation”.

We are proud to represent our island and to be the only ones in the world to offer this type of object, which combines the knowledge of Reunionese herbal medicine with the know-how of craftsmen.

Kanet honors all these heritages by blending African, Indian, Asian, Madagascan and European traditions.

ETYMOLOGY

“Alé zoué kanet”

Kanet (m.) is a Creole word that, like many words, is tending to disappear. The best-known expression is “Alé zoué kanet”, literally “go play marbles” in French, but in this case it's used to put someone in their place, “envoyer bouler”, “remballer”.

In the past, marbles were called kanets and were a popular game for children in the playground.

As a sort of heirloom, older children used to pass on their “precious” marbles, proudly won over the years, to younger ones.

It's always been a fascinating object. In fact, when you stand in front of the sun and plunge your gaze inside, you're quickly overwhelmed by its colors and subtleties, forgetting for a moment what's going on around you.

Our values...

ETHICS

"No human or environmental exploitation

We are convinced that a product brings real well-being only if it has been harvested and manufactured under ethical conditions, with due regard for the well-being of all those involved in its creation. It's with RESPECT that we design our jewels to make our business rewarding.

RESPONSIBLE

 “All responsible for each other”.

We were determined to create a business that would support the local economy. That's why all our raw materials come from our island, and the same goes for all the creative stages right through to the finished product. Everything is 100% local.

As Reunion Islanders, it gives us great satisfaction to be able to showcase our island.

KANET

"Zerbaz i mèt gayar

Herbal healing practices are very much alive and well on Reunion Island. According to the Department, there are some 550 species used by Reunion islanders, 34 of which are recognized by the French pharmacopoeia.

We wanted to bring a new dimension to these practices, something more modern and trendy.

By crystallizing the essences, we were able to turn them into an everyday object for everyone, without any dosage risks, since they cannot be ingested or applied directly to the skin. And all with an attractive aesthetic touch.

Although there are no studies on the use of these medicinal plants in this form, their virtues in phytotherapy are very real. As for beliefs, they are part of our history and accompany us in our daily lives. Plants in Réunion Island are vibrant, inspiring and charged with energy. They have accompanied our ancestors for centuries, and today they continue to support, reassure and protect us at every moment of our lives.

Today, we are delighted to offer you our kanets.

We believe that every piece of jewelry tells a story, and we're happy to help you find yours.
