Kaffir lime or combava is known as much for its medicinal properties as for the traditional beliefs surrounding it, particularly in the Indian Ocean, Reunion Island, Madagascar, and Asia.
In Madagascar and the islands of the Indian Ocean, combava baths are prepared during periods of transition (mourning, birth, a new stage of life) to cleanse the body energetically.
